Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition: General Meeting

Open, general meeting of Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition. Occurs monthly, fourth Thursday of every month.

Pot-luck always begins at 5:30pm, with meeting starting promptly at 6:00pm.

General meetings are a great chance for new and interested members to gain a better understanding of the coalition's work. General meetings involve report back from each committee with a focused discussion on one or two items in particular. Very welcoming environment.

בשנת 1966, בפסטיבל ברקלי, בין פיט סיגר לג'פרסון איירפלינס, עלה לבמה רב יהודי עם גיטרה והתחיל לשיר. בעיתון קראו לו "הרבי המרקד". עילוי צעיר בישיבה הליטאית ליקווד, שלבו הלך אחרי הרבי מלובביץ', בשליחותו, יצא ללמד תורה ילדי פרחים בסן פרנסיסקו. כשאהבתו אליהם חצתה את גבולות ההלכה, הוא נשאר לבד. שלמה קרליבך אמר פעם בראיון לרדיו שהלחין לפחות 4,000 ניגונים. לפני 13 שנים הוא נפטר, חסר פרוטה. היום הוא ממלא אולמות. כמעט בכל קהילה יהודית בעולם יש "מניין קרליבך". אבל אלה שאלות של "מה אתה". שלמה קרליבך נגע בנשמות. הוא הילך ברחובות העולם וביקש "אם יש מישהו שאני אמור לפגוש בעולם הזה, אנא אל תיתן לי לחלוף על פניו…" וכל יציאה לרחוב, הפכה להזדמנות לגעת בעוד אדם - במבט, במילה, בשיר, בחיבוק . הסרט כמוהו, מבקש שלא לחלוף על פני מישהו בדרך, הולך אל המקומות בהם הלך, אל האנשים בהם נגע. מנסה דרכם, לגעת בו. ישראל 2007, 63 דק', דוקומנטרי, עברית יוקרן ב: רביעי ה-7/10 בשעה 19:30 חמישי ה-22/10 בשעה 21:30

Seattle Performing and Visual Arts College Fair

College-bound high school students interested in pursuing undergraduate and graduate studies in the areas of music, dance, theater, visual arts, graphic design, and other related disciplines are encouraged to attend the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s (NACAC) Seattle Performing and Visual Arts College Fair.

The Seattle Performing and Visual Arts College Fair will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

At NACAC’s Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs, students, parents and art institutions take center stage. These fairs allow college-bound students interested in the arts to meet one-on-one with admission representatives from colleges, universities, conservatories, studios, festivals, and other educational institutions with specialized programs in the visual and performing arts.

Attendees learn about educational opportunities, admission and financial aid, portfolio days, audition and entrance requirements, student life, and much more.

While plenty of information is available for college-bound students with traditional interests, not as many resources exist for those who are more artistically-inclined. NACAC’s Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs fill a vital need for the growing number of students pursuing college degrees in music, theater, art, dance, visual arts, graphic design and writing. These fairs offer a unique opportunity to get the inside scoop on what it takes to obtain a degree in the arts.

Annually, more than 20,000 students attend NACAC’s Performing and Visual Arts College Fairs.
This fall, NACAC will sponsor Performing and Visual Arts Fairs in 17 locations throughout the country, including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Chicago, Dallas and Las Vegas.
