John Waters narrated environmental documentary - Plagues & Pleasures on the Salton Sea

All day

PLAGUES & PLEASURES ON THE SALTON SEA - www.saltonseadoc.com
Directed by Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer
Narrated by John Waters
Music by Friends of Dean Martinez

"A heartbreaking, sidesplitting parade of humanity." - Village Voice

"Droll, deadpan... A fascinating, nutty story, a kind of Chinatown gone wrong (or gone more wrong.) - Chicago Tribune

"One-of-a-kind documentary... A startlingly funny portrait of Gothic Americana." - Christian Science Monitor

"An interesting, disturbing, and humorous look at environmental disaster." - The Berkeley Daily Planet

Fabulously offbeat and refreshingly upbeat, this lovable film gets friendly with the natives of the Salton Sea, an inland ocean of massive fish kills, rotting resorts, and 120 degree nights located
just minutes from urban Southern California. This award-winning film from directors Chris Metzler and Jeff Springer details the rise and fall of the Salton Sea, from its heyday as the "California Riviera" where boaters and Beach Boys mingled in paradise to its present state as a decaying, forgotten ecological disaster. From wonderland to
wasteland, PLAGUES & PLEASURES ON THE SALTON SEA captures a place far more interesting than the shopping malls and parking lots of suburban
America, a wacky world where a beer-swilling Hungarian Revolutionary, a geriatric nudist, and a religious zealot building a monument to God all find solace and community.

Crisply and hilariously narrated by oddball auteur John Waters, and featuring music by desert lounge rockers Friends of Dean Martinez, PLAGUES & PLEASURES ON THE SALTON SEA melds high camp with stark realism, offering both a sobering message about the consequences of tampering with nature and a heart-warming tale of individualism.

Traveling 9/11 Exhibit

10:00 AM - 6:00 PM

The next weekend is guaranteed to be a big one for 9/11 Truth in St. Louis. The traveling exhibit designed to raise money for the 9/11 Memorial will have its Opening Ceremony on the Washington University parking lot at Skinker & Forest Park at 10AM Saturday, November 3. The exhibition will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6. I am sure we will all learn a great deal from it.

Here is the text of a leaflet which I propose we hand out on the occasion. Suggestions invited online, decisions made in person at the Bread Co., 2375 N. Lindbergh, on Wednesday at 6:30.

THE ST. LOUIS 9/11 QUESTIONS GROUP

Members of the St. Louis 9/11 Questions Group believe that the American way to show respect for the victims and families of those killed and injured on that day is to be relentless in the pursuit of the Truth about what happened. Would we think that a law enforcement officer who framed the most convenient suspect in a murder case was honoring the victim, or simply doing as little work as possible? What would we think of the case against an accused if the trial were held in secret?

No investigation of 9/11 would have occurred if the members of the Family Steering Committee had not campaigned vigorously for such an investigation, against the wishes of the Bush Administration. The FSC posed 400-plus questions, which the 9/11 Commission adopted as its roadmap. The vast majority of these questions were completely ignored in the Commission hearings and the final report. Here is one of the things they said:

FSC Statement Regarding the Failure
of the 9/11 Independent Commission to Subpoena the White House
February 10, 2004

"The Family Steering Committee (FSC) is outraged by the failure of the
9/11 Independent Commission to subpoena the White House for complete
access to the Presidential Daily Briefings.

"The public needs to be aware that the President's statements on Meet
the Press, on February 8, 2004, were misleading."

Former FBI translator and whistleblower Sibel Edmonds has promised to tell everything she knows about treason at the highest level of the US government - with one proviso:

"Here's my promise to the American Public: If any one of the major networks --- ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, FOX --- promise to air the entire segment, without editing, I promise to tell them everything that I know."
Edmonds, "the most gagged person in the history of the United States of America," has been trying to expose criminal activity, treason, at the highest levels of the US Government - Congress, Pentagon and State Dept - since she became aware of the crimes in 2001 and 2002.

Edmonds has exhausted every conceivable channel in the courts, Congress, and elsewhere, and is now willing to risk criminal charges to ensure that the American people learn how their government really 'works.'

The NIST Report on the destruction of New York ignores the fact that two 110-storey steel-and-concrete buildings burst outward on all four sides simultaneously, turning to dust, floor by floor, in ten seconds, and, according to the "official" theory, two airplanes knocked down three buildings.

If you think that this situation is worthy of your interest, welcome.
