Concert for Human Rights

Camden Yards is the city's largest employer of day labor. When we started organizing there, it was paying workers a flat rate that was well below minimum wage. There were also many instances of sexual harassment, unpaid wage claims and other human rights violations. We believed that the Maryland Stadium Authority needed to be held to account for these human rights violations. Our demand was simple: Pay a living wage that moves people out of poverty.

The United Workers is organizing our largest protest event, timed to follow the Sept 1 deadline for a living wage at Camden Yards. We'll either be celebrating victory or ramping up pressure.
Either way, plan to join us for a festival of music and protest for human rights, including the right to freedom from poverty.

يعقد المعرض يوم السبت الموافق 8 أيلول 2007 في تمام الساعة العاشرة صباحًا في بناية "مفعال هبايس" في مسغاف.

إننا ندعو جميع المناصرين والداعمين للنضال من أجل المساواة في حقوق السكن وتوزيع الأراضي الانضمام إلينا في هذا اليوم الخاص حيث سنعرض بديلاً لسياسة القبول للسكن في البلدات المجتمعية.

سوف نرفع صوتنا في هذا اليوم أمام متخذي القرار ومنفّذيه على أرض الواقع للتعبير عن رفضنا لاستمرار الاعتماد على السياسة العنصرية والتمييز ضدّ المواطنين الفلسطينيّين في إسرائيل في مجالي الأرض والمسكن واستمرار الفصل بين العرب واليهود.

نحن ماضون في العمل من أجل تغيير هذه السياسة وبدلاً منها الاعتماد على سياسة سكن تستند إلى مبادئ المساواة والعدل، ونحن ماضون في دعمنا للجميع لإحقاق حقوقهم في إنشاء بيوتهم في كل مكان يبتغونه، وسوف نطالب لإلغاء لجان القبول في البلدات المجتمعية في مسغاف.

Alternative Voice in the Galilee (AVIG) has the pleasure of inviting you to participate in the



DEMOCRATIC HOUSING FARE ACROSS THE REGIONAL COUNCIL OF MISGAV



The Fare will take place on Saturday, 8 September 2007, beginning 10:00 at the ESHKOL PAIS Auditorium of the MISGAV Regional Council.



We invite all those who support the struggle for equality of rights in housing and in access to land to join us for this rather special day, during which AVIG will present an alternative to the admission policies currently informing access to the community settlements of MISGAV.



In the course of the day AVIG will demonstrate to policy-makers and to those who implement their policies that we oppose the ongoing racist policies of discrimination against the Palestinian citizens of Israel with regards to access to land and housing, and resist the ongoing policies of segregation between Arabs and Jews.



We are determined to continue our advocacy in support of a housing policy predicated on the principles of equality and justice; assist each and every person in their quest of implementing their right of establishing a home in every locality of their choice; and demand the nullification of the Committees of Admission to community settlements.

ביום רביעי 29.8.07, נפגשנו בכפר ג'יוס, נפת קלקיליה, עם ראש המועצה וחברי הוועדה העממית.



הנושאים שנדונו בפגישה:

1. הצעות הצבא לתוואי חלופי של החומה.

2. תנאי המעבר בשערים לאדמות החקלאיות ממערב לחומה.

3. מנועי מעבר לאדמות ממערב לחומה.



לסעיף 1.

הצטרפנו כמשקיפים לפגישה של פרנסי הכפר עם נציגי האגודה לזכויות ג'יוס, פלמה, וכופור ג'מאל.

הצבא הציג שלוש חלופות לתוואי הנוכחי, לדברי הנוכחים בפגישה הן אינן

נשמעו תלונות קשות לגבי תנאי המעבר מהכפרים לשטחים החקלאיים

כל ההכבדות הללו גורמות לפגיעה חמורה בעבודות החקלאיות ופוגעות





הצעות:

הוזמנו להצטרף להפגנת מחאה ביום שבת 8.9.07 בשעה 10.30, בבוקר. בהתאם להצלחת ההפגנה נשקול יחד קיום הפגנות משותפות על בסיס שבועי כדי להביא את נושא

נתבקשנו להשתתף בקמפיין ציבורי ותקשורתי נגד הגדר ומכשלותיה.

הכפר ג'יוס:- 3,500 תושבים 8,600 דונם אדמה חקלאית ממערב לגדר, (סה"כ 75% מאדמות הכפר).

סה"כ מנועי מעבר בשערים - כ- 34 מנועי שב"כ.



הכפר פלאמה:- 750 תושבים, כופור ג'מאל- 2,500 תושבים.

סה"כ האדמות החקלאיות מעבר לגדר בשני הכפרים כ- הגידולים כמו בג'יוס.

הסיור הבא של זוכרות יתקיים בשכונת עג'מי שביפו. ב-1948, אחרי כיבוש יפו וגירוש תושביה, הייתה עג'מי לגטו עבור המעטים שנותרו. היום, מנהל מקרקעי ישראל מבקש לפנות כ-500 משפחות, רובן מתגוררות בשכונה מאז 1948.
בסיור נקשר בין הנכבה של 1948 לגירוש וההרס המתמשכים היום. נסייר בשכונה, נשמע עדויות של תושבי עג'מי ששרדו את הנכבה, נפיץ חוברות שהופקו במיוחד לאירוע ונציב שלטים עם השמות המקוריים של הרחובות ביאפא.

Cordially invites you to selling handcrafts made by women from the southern Mount Hebron

A small community of shepherds and farmers live in tents, caves and villages in the southern Mount Hebron area. The authorities, the army and the settlers have been persecuting them to force them out of their land. To help them, 25 women organized and established a cooperative which sells embroidery, carpets and baskets throughout the country.

Each village has its own characteristics that appear on the handicrafts and which are related to history, folklore and heritage.

TOCO Family Festival patrons rally Saturday SEPTEMBER 8th for 24 hours of camping fun, beginning at noon at THE YMCA OUTDOOR CENTER: 2437 Park Road, Belleville, Illinois 62220; just off of Route 158 and Mine Haul Road.  Families enjoy: music, canoeing, fishing & swimming as well as a high ropes challenge course (advance registration required).  Campers are invited to browse through the Artist Caravan featuring the wares of a variety of local artists.  Patrons pick up raffle tickets for a chance to win great prizes including a brand new autographed guitar.  Visitors choose from a variety of vending options.  Kids find hands on creative art activities such as shaker making, painting, coloring contest and more in the Kid’s Tent and Celia hosts the Kid’s Stage this year!  Anyone can lend a hand in the Collective Art Project & partake in pot throwing, mosaic making, music instruction, & other handicraft demonstrations.  TOCO also believes strongly in community education and hosts an Awareness Walk where patrons & not for profit groups exchange intelligent ideas.

ElderHelp of San Diego's Walk of Ages promises a morning full of fun for all generations. Make sure to visit the FunFest where children and children at heart will enjoy games of chance and skill.
An intergenerational event for the entire family!
Enjoy 1 and 3 mile Walk/Run/Bike courses through the historic charm of Liberty Station at NTC in Point Loma.

Family, friends and employee teams are encouraged to walk together to demonstrate their support for low-income, frail and homebound San Diego seniors.Special recognition will be given to intergenerational teams of 3 or more people spanning over three generations with a combined age of 100+.
