ESRC Seminar Series on Neoliberalism, Anti-neoliberalism and De-ideologisation

We are holding the 3rd seminar in our ESRC Neoliberalism, Anti-neoliberalism and De-ideologisation series on Tuesday 17th July focused on Local Anti-neoliberalism.

הריסת בתים

מזה 40 שנה ישראל מיישמת מדיניות הריסת בתים כאמצעי לחץ על תושבים פלסטינים, בעיקר
במזרח ירושלים, כסוג של 'טרנספר שקט'. מאז 1967 מדינת ישראל הרסה, לפי מידע מתועד, כ-
18,000 בתים בשטחים הכבושים.

משנת 2000 ועד היום נהרסו 5,376 בתים בשטחים הכבושים, מתוכם 481 בירושלים בלבד. אלפי
בתים נוספים נמצאים תחת איום הריסה. כל בית הרוס זו משפחה הרוסה אחת, לפחות!

בניית בתים

מדי שנה אנו מארגנים מחנה בנייה, ומקימים יחד בית חדש למשפחה שביתה נהרס. בזמן של
שבועיים נבנה בית חדש מהיסודות ועד לגג, ונמסור את המפתח למשפחה. זוהי פעולה של התנגדות
אזרחית לא-אלימה, הבאה להביע קול מחאה לכיבוש הישראלי ולנישול הקהילה הפלסטינית מאדמתה
ומורשתה. מעבר למסר של סולידריות, דו שיח וחברות, זו דרך לעזור למשפחה שעברה טראומה קשה
ונותרה חסרת גג.

איך בונים בית ב-14 יום?

כפי שעשינו במחנות הקודמים - עם הרבה זיעה, רצון טוב, ליווי של צוות מקצועי והשתתפות של
מתנדבים בינלאומים, פלסטינים וישראלים (את/ה!)

פעילות במחנה

למשתתפי המחנה תהייה הזדמנות ללמוד על ה'עובדות בשטח' של הסכסוך הישראלי-פלסטיני,
במפגשי ערב עם דמויות פוליטיות, פעילים, אקדמאיים ואמנים, כמו גם ארגונים העובדים על
מנת להשתית שלום צודק בין ישראל והרשות, סרטים על הסכסוך וסיורים מודרכים למקומות שונים
של השטחים הכבושים, בירושלים ובישראל.

ישראלים מוזמנים להצטרף לימי עבודה כיחידים או כקבוצות, לפי תאום מראש

מתי מחנה הבניה נמשך מ- 14/7 עד שבת 28/7 (טקס חנוכת הבית החדש ייערך ביום
ראשון- 29/7).

(יש ימים בהם דרושים יותר מתנדבים - אנא תתקשרו בהקדם לתאם איתנו!)

איפה בעיירה ענאתא, בין הר הצופים ופסגת זאב, בשטח המותר לכניסת ישראלים.

הסעות יוצאות מדי בוקר וצהריים מירושלים (השער החדש מול נוטרדם) וחוזרות מדי ערב.

ניתן להגיע גם ברכב פרטי (5 דקות מהגבעה הצרפתית).

מחיר 30 ₪ ליום (כולל הסעות ירושלים - ענתא וחזרה + ארוחות טעימות מתאימות גם

לטבעונים).

מוקדם יותר הגיעה המשטרה למתחם ועצרה 3 מתושבי המתחם באשמת שווא של אחזקת אמצעי לחימה, וטרחה גם לעדכן את כל אמצעי התקשורת בדבר השקר.
נראה אם כן כי הפינוי ייערך מאוחר הלילה או מוקדם מאד מחר בבוקר. זה גם מה שמסרו הקצינים לתושבי המקום
תושבי המתחם מעוניינים להתנגד לפינוי, ומבקשים את נוכחותנו ועמידתנו איתם

This morning, Tuesday, the court approved the eviction of 30 families in Kfar Shalem.
Earlier the police arrested 3 people from Kfar Shalen on ridicules charges of storing weapon...
This means the eviction is most likely to happen late tonight or very early tomorrow morning. This is also what the officers told the Kfar Shalem committee.
If we want to help resist the eviction, we need to be as many as possible.
We will meet tonight at 22:00, in the site, Moshe Dayan st. & the corner of Mahal.

Underground Literary Alliance

Two Underground Literary Alliance authors, Wred Fright and Crazy Carl Robinson, will read at Red Emma's Bookstore Coffeehouse, with a special local guest, Sean Stewart of Thoughtworm zine. The Baltimore stop is part of a several city author reading tour dubbed "Underground Literary America." Each Underground Literary America tourstop will feature Fright and Robinson reading from their recently published novels by Underground Literary Alliance Press, as well as performances and readings by special guests. Fright's novel, The Pornographic Flabbergasted Emus , tells the comedic story of a garage rock band in a college town, and has been called "a comic triumph" and "a great book" by critics. Robinson's novel, Fat on the Vine, details the protagonist's breakdown after a breakup, and has been called a "masterpiece." The reading is free.

Radical History Reading Circle - Summer FreeSkool!

Hi!

Interested in reading some good books and discussing them? You may have heard about the Ithaca Freeskool by now - it is a non-heierarchial, peer-to-peer (mostly adult oriented) learning environment for skill shares, projects, classes and discussion groups. This summer is our second term, and we have a great set of free classes for the community.

As part of the freeskool, we are beginning a Tuesday evening reading/discussion circle looking mostly at radical

history…the plan is to start with readings from Emma Goldman's

Anarchism and Other Essays, followed by parts of Howard Zinn's

(howardzinn.org) Peoples History of the United States.

With the nature and scope of the readings, we

feel it is especially important to try and make this group as open and

non-heierarchial as possible, but at the same time show that this will

not devolve into a flaky non-productive setting. So the class will be

open to moving in directions that participants consense on taking it.
