Save Affordable Housing - Come to City Council

DEMAND A CAP BE PLACED ON CONDO CONVERSION

San Diego City Council will be considering approving an ordinance to place a cap of 1,000 units per year on condo conversion as part of a proposed settlement of litigation filed against the City by the Affordable Housing Coalition. During the last three years, approximately 20,000 to 30,000 units have been approved for conversion.

The proposed settlement is a first step toward preventing the loss of additional units of affordable rental housing. Our shrinking supply of affordable housing places people with disabilities, seniors, and low income families at greatest risk.
