COMMUNITY LEADERS, STUDENTS, RELIGIOUS LEADERS, CHALLENGE COKE TO STOP DRAINING WATER FROM WORLDS POOREST COMMUNITIES
Two days before people across the US sit down to Thanksgiving dinner, activists call on Coca-Cola to stop draining water from some of the worlds poorest communities. Community leaders, students and educators speak out against Cokes abusive practices in India and deliver public comments to Coke headquarters in Atlanta. These local activists are taking part in an international day of action and telling Coke to stop stealing water. Similar events are being held in seven cities across the US in conjunction with a major protest in northeastern India, where thousands of people are gathering to demand an end to Cokes abuses.

Feminist Discussion Group
Feminists like to talkand there is so much to talk about! From reality t.v. to the criminal justice system, there are so many issues affecting women, and sometimes it just feels good to get your opinion in a forum where it is taken seriously and debated with other smart, funny, creative and innovative minds. Such possible discussion questions are: are women more constrained today than they were in the 50s?, how does the news media portray womens issues?, why have womens issues been relatively non-existent in the Presidential race? If you are interested in swapping ideas or learning more about feminism, come to the WeMoon Center every 2nd and 4th Tuesday night at 8pm. Everyone is welcome to join, so feel free to invite your brother, your partner and a friend!
Schedule of Topics:
11/23: Reality Television (with an emphasis on shows such as Wife Swap, Trading Spouses and the Swan)
12/14: Consumerism and the role of women
