Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore Meeting
Join the Pledge of Resistance-Baltimore as it meets on Monday nights at the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) building on York Road. The Pledge, formerly the Iraq Pledge of Resistance, regularly engages in civil disobedience on behalf of our collective civil liberties. Every action is non-violent and is conducted peacefully.
The Pledge has a series of actions planned in the upcoming months that are designed to visibly oppose the Bush administration's "preemptive" warmongering and attacks on the Bill of Rights. If you're concerned about the direction the US is heading to please consider coming out and joining us. (Note: it is always advisable to call in advance to confirm the meeting is being held as scheduled.)

You are invited to take part in a night of film about the worldwide labor movement within the world economy.
On Monday, April 26, 2004, at 7pm in the Community Television studio, Reelwork Mayday labor film festival will be showing three movies which depict the global movement against neoliberal free trade policies. Your Tax Dollars at Work documents the well-funded police repression of free speech at the recent protest in Miami; Friend Or Foe is a documentary about thousands of Korean workers who formed a formidable movement in times of downsizing, and Shots on the Docks recounts the violent police attack on protesters and ILWU activists at the port of Oakland last April. Speaking will be Steve Zelzter, a prominent documentary film maker and founder of the Labor Video Project.
The Reelwork Mayday Labor Film Festival shows films around every May Day about the ongoing struggles workers worldwide have gone through, and the victories they have won. Movies are shown this from Sunday, April 25th to Saturday, May 1st, at a variety of public venues.
