The Neighborhood Assemblies provides forums in which we as residents can voice our concerns but also take an active and direct role in planning and implementing municipal/civic governance and neighborhood/community revitalization. We have a lot of exciting opportunities ahead of us. It is important that we as residents play a lead role in the improvement of our city.

Sulha Peace Project

Dear Participants from Europe's Role in the Resolution of the
Palestinian- Israeli Conflict conference and other Peace NGOers.

The Sulha Peace Project is a grassroots organization inspired by the
indigenous process of mediation (Sulha) that aims to rebuild trust and
restore dignity towards facilitating peace and reconciliation. Many of
the participants from the Europe's Role in the Resolution of the
Palestinian- Israeli Conflict conference are involved in the project
(see us in the films below!!)

For three days between August 14-16, people from all ages and all
walks of life will gather to learn and experience together each
others' stories, narratives, pains and hopes. We will engage in
listening circles, multicultural workshops, interfaith rituals and
celebrate each other's cultural heritage.

Please join us for the planning meeting at 18:00 on July 26 2007, and
for the gathering on August 14-16 2007. Kindly let us know if you
would like to give a presentation at the gathering.

We will gather at both times in the Olive Groves on the Southern Side
of the Trappist Monastery in the area of Latrun.

We will provide all food and accommodation. Kindly let us know if you
need help in obtaining either a Visa or a permit to enter Israel.

ביום חמישי, ה16 לאוגוסט, אנו מתכננים יום עבודה בגינה הקהילתית שלנו. אנא הצטרפו אלינו ולחברים אחרים בקהילתנו לעיבוד מחדש של אדמת הגינה, והכנתה לשתילה לפני . אנו נתחיל בשעה 16:00 אחה"צ, כאשר המזג אוויר מתקרר מעט, ונמשיך לעבוד במשך כמה שעות.

לפני העבודה נפתח במצגת קצרה ודיון על בוסתן ותוכניות עתידיות למרכז הירוק . אנא הרגישו חופשי להגיע מאוחר יותר אם אינכם יכולים לבוא בדיוק 16:00.

אנו רוצים שגינה זו תהיה אתר בו כולם בקהילה ירגישו בבית, אז עזרו לנו להפוך אותה ! בתקווה שכולנו נהנה מפירות עבודתנו בשנה הקרבה.

Thursday, August 16, we are planning a communal work day in the garden.

Please join us as and other members of our community as we break ground in the garden and rework the soil with compost to get it ready for planting before shmita. We’ll start at 4 pm, as it starts to cool down, and go for a couple hours. We’ll start with a short presentation/ discussion on BUSTAN and the future plans for this center and especially the garden. Feel free to drop by later if you can’t come in right on time. We want this garden to be a site where everyone in the community feels at home so help us make it a beautiful communal spot! Hopefully we can all benefit from the fruits of our labor in the year to come.

If you have any extra tools (gloves, shovels, pitchforks, hoes, etc.) please bring them by to use as well.

יוצרות התערוכה הנן נשים אשר נסחרו והוקרבו למטרות זנות בישראל בשנים האחרונות. חלקן מתגוררות ב"מעגן", חלקן קיבלו אשרה לשנה בניסיון "להשתקם" בקהילה וחלקן הוחזרו לארצן

הן צריכות להציג לכבודם מידי ערב.

הן שם, אבל לא ממש שם.

הגוף נמצא. גם האיפור, החיוך.

הנפש בורחת למקום אחר.

הזמן הכרונולוגי עובר -

אבל הן עודן ילדות רכות אשר בעצמן היו רוצות, לשחק בבובות ולא להיות בובות.



הן עייפות.

הן היו רוצות שנראה את הדמעה אשר מעבר לחיוך המאולץ.

הן היו רוצות שנשמע את הזוועות שמילים אינן יכולות לתאר.

Drop-In Volunteering

The Prison Book Project is an all-volunteer, secular collective that sends books free-of-charge to those imprisoned in New England and Texas. Drop-in volunteers are welcome every Sunday from 1pm to 4pm to answer letters from prisoners requesting books.
