Animal Liberation Workshop for beginners

All day

Animal Liberation Workshop for beginners

Firmen,
bis zur revolutionären Veränderung der Mensch-Tier Beziehung.

Dieser Animal Liberation Workshop soll Hilfe zur Selbstorganisation und zum Aktivwerden für Tierrechte bieten. Du erfährst
Was Tierrechte sind
Was die Tierrechtsbewegung macht und erreichen will
Wie Du Dein eigenes Leben entsprechend verändern kannst
Wo Du in Deiner Region mithelfen kannst

Eintritt frei!
Veganes Mittagessen zum Selbstkostenpreis!

Designed to foster world peace and interfaith tolerance, the Peacechain
is a stunningly beautiful original necklace which will be much noticed and admired.

The Peacechain is designed to be worn as a symbol of peace, respect and tolerance and to spread this message of peace throughout the world.

Designed by Elizabeth Harley, each Peacechain is made in Hallmarked Sterling Silver and has 9 finely crafted symbols representing all world religions, all peoples and all ways of being. Inscribed on the back of the discs are the words and characters for the word peace written in eleven different languages.
Each Peacechain has been designed to surround the wearer in the palpable energy of peace and serenity and has been blessed in a temple in Thailand to bring peace to the wearer and peace to the world.
The Peace Jewellery range now includes pendant, earrings, bracelet and dove pin.

"I originally designed The Peacechain because I wanted one for myself. I then decided to produce it for sale worldwide as I know that my vision of world peace and interfaith tolerance is shared by so many people throughout the world and that number is spreading and growing every day" - Elizabeth Harley

Showing of The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream

2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

How high will gasoline prices go? Will they ever come back down? And why did they begin going up in the first place?

While Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have done significant damage to refineries, rigs, and a major oil port on the Gulf Coast, prices had already been rising for some time before it hit. According to the American Automobile Association's Daily Fuel Gauge Report (www.fuelgaugereport.com), the average retail price for regular unleaded gasoline in the Kansas City, MO market on October 10th was $2.663. A year prior, it was $1.863. What's going on?

A growing number of oil industry experts argue that we are at or near the peak of global oil production, the point at which the world's oil companies produce more oil than they ever have--and more than they ever will again. From then on, production begins a bumpy decline, resulting in a growing gap between supply and demand among the world's industrialized nations and driving oil prices up dramatically as they compete for the available supply.

Given that oil is the foundation for the industrialized economy, what will it mean for our lives if they're right? Please join us for a showing of a documentary titled The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream (www.endofsuburbia.com), which explores this subject in greater depth.

Antioch branch of the Johnson County Public Library, 8700 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Merriam, KS, 913-261-2300.
