Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
Adopting a strategic approach to people, processes and technology to optimise performance and minimise costwww.infocusinternational.com/rcm

3 - 6 June 2014
Johannesburg, South Africa

Overview

RCM is a systematic way of looking at equipment, its functions, its failure modes, effects and the consequences of failure. The purpose is to select smart maintenance tactics to minimise the consequences of failure and to build an effective maintenance program. To be really effective, RCM needs to go beyond these basics. This program will focus on how to make RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) an effective and living tool, and add great value to an organisation's maintenance operations functions to achieve operational excellence.

Turning 'Theory' into 'Practice'

Heavily based on practical workshops and live experience of many case studies, this unique program will guide you through the latest maintenance management tools and techniques, advanced maintenance practices and how you can build value in maintenance through reliability. You will develop a personal development plan as a take-away. This is specifically designed to prompt you to apply best practice and techniques at your workplace. Printed handouts, electronic copies of the presentations and RCM worksheets for the practical sessions will be provided.

Key Learning Objectives

• Build the strategic RCM framework to create an effective maintenance program
• Gain practical exposure to this important maintenance technique
• Identify the pitfalls of RCM and develop strategies to avoid them
• Understand the process of planning and implementing RCM
• Turn RCM into Living RCM - how to prevent the RCM analysis from becoming obsolete
• See the benefits of integrating RCM with EAM/CMMS
• Prepare for a risk based RCM analysis
• Select smart maintenance tactics and evaluate the benefits and costs
• Optimise performance using effective planning, scheduling and control
• Effective implementation of maintenance tactics plus when and why not to use the wrong tactics
