BCNC "Chinglish" Premiere and Dessert Reception

The Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, Inc. (BCNC), in conjunction with the Lyric Stage Company, is offering a limited number of benefit tickets to see the Boston premiere of “Chinglish” and a post-event dessert reception with the cast and director.

“Chinglish” is a hilarious comedy of mistranslation and manners by Tony Award-winning playwright, David Henry Hwang. Named one of Time Magazine’s 10 best plays of 2011, “Chinglish” follows an American businessman in a bustling Chinese province looking to cash-in on the area’s growth potential. He engages an English consultant to navigate the linguistic and cultural clash his venture unwittingly sparks and gets more than he negotiated for. David Henry Hwang’s work is known for his provocative satires and dramas that have brought more Asian and Asian-American characters to Broadway and other stages.

All proceeds from ticket sales will support BCNC’s Youth Center which provides tutoring, college access and leadership programs to over 150 youths a year. 10 youths from BCNC will also receive free tickets to see the play.
