THE MATRIX OR THE MINORITY REPORT at Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In
Friday, 06 July 2007
8:30 PM - 11:30 PM
Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In Presents
The Matrix or Minority Report
Challenging the laws that make public space off limits after sunset, we return to our controversial spot under the Soquel Bridge. Three years ago we were booted from this spot by a dozen police officers during our showing of The Third Man. Our hope is that with enough community support we will reclaim this space and transform it into the joyful playground it should be. To that end, we're showing a huge blockbuster with the hope of enticing large numbers of moviegoers. Our two choices are Minority Report and The Matrix, but we can't decide between them, so it may be viewer's choice. Note, if there is anything even remotely resembling a tie, the host will cast the deciding vote, and she is definitely voting for The Matrix.
PLUS thrilling and funny short films, an intermission, and great company.
Friday July 6th, around sundown
8:30 pm-ish

BRING lawn chairs, blankets, pillows, friends, wine, & food to share for intermission. Donations are greatly appreciated and directly support the project. (We are currently saving to get a spare projector bulb.)
SANTA CRUZ GUERILLA DRIVE-IN is an outdoor movie theater under the stars that springs up unexpectedly in the fields and industrial wastelands. Beyond showing great movies and bringing a broad community together, part of our mission is helping reclaim public space and transforming our urban environment into the joyful playground it should be.
