Jeremy Scahill will speak about Blackwater, a firm that has proposed an 824-acre military-style training camp near Potrero, San Diego county. The proposed location borders on the Cleveland National Forest and is a sensitive habitat for eagles and other wildlife. It is also an important watershed. Now, even our military is being outsourced to corporations who will sell military might to the highest bidder.
Event Location: First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego
4190 Front Street, Hillcrest, San Diego (opposite UCSD Medical Center )
*Wheelchair Accessible
Parking: Church parking lot (limited) / Street parking (within 2 blocks)
Directions: From Washington Street (Hillcrest): North on 1st St. , 3 blocks / Left on Arbor, 1 block. Church is on your left / UCSD Medical Center is on your right.
Cost: $5 - $10 donation requested. (No one will be turned away.)
Proceeds will be used to fight Blackwater USA 's plans for "Blackwater West" training facility in Potrero, San Diego County
