THEREMIN: a play by Blue Cake Theatre
Friday, 17 December 2004
8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
The world premiere of "THEREMIN" a play written and produced by the newly formed Blue Cake Theatre Company. THEREMIN stars Duke Doyle, Ben Lewis, Matthew Rudnicki, and Anna Hendrick and is directed by Carly Cioffi and Max Rosenak.
THEREMIN is the story of Leon Theremin, the russian inventor of the musical instrument bearing the same name. He is considered the father of electronic music and created a device in the 1930's that can be played with no contact at all; music from the wave of a hand. His story is told through the troubled eyes of Brian Wilson, founder of the Beach Boys, who used the theremin in some of their biggest hits. We take the liberty of introducing these men to each other. The results are illuminating, to both men.
