Afro-Punk
Saturday, 20 November 2004
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Organizer: Lucy Parsons Center
Afro-punk is the "rock n roll nigger" experience, a 66-minute documentary that explores race and identity within the punk scene. More than your everyday "Behind the Music" or typical "black history month" documentary this film tackles the hard questions such as issues of loneliness, exile, inter-racial dating and black power. We follow the lives of 4 people committed to punk rock as they find themselves in conflicting situations, leading the dual life of a person of color in a mostly white community.
Location:
Lucy Parsons Center
549 Columbus Ave.
Boston (South End)
Cost: Donations encouraged but open to one and all.
