Marleine Bastien: Haitian Refugee Rights Activist

Marleine Bastien, a devoted refugee rights activist, will be speaking about human rights and Haiti on Mon. Nov. 15. She is considered a true leader in the Haitian community of South Florida. A passionate and articulate spokesperson for Haitians, she formed the "Justice Coalition for the Haitian Children of Guantanamo" to advocate for Haitian children incarcerated there in the early 1990s and also helped to pass the Haitian Refugee Act. We are seeking co-sponsors to help out with this event so please contact asap.
