ZEGOTA , OI POLLOI , FILTHPACT @ Studio 24, Edinburgh
Zegota, Oi Polloi, Filthpact (last ever gig!) 27/11/05
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cold Dead Hands Proudly Presents:
Zegota (USA)
Unique, inspiring hardcore from the USA via Sweden. Drawing on the legacy of late 90s hardcore bands like Refused and Catharsis (their guitarist was a sometime touring member of Catharsis, actually, and their new record was produced by a member of Refused), they mix up walls of guitars, raw vocals, and drums like the heart beat of an escaped hostage.
Zegota and a few bands like them are the life's blood of the next generation of hardcore: their music is anthemic and soulful, cutting edge, innovative enough to sound like no other band; their lyrics are political and passionate, filled with sincerity and youthful idealism.
Records on notorious propaganda house and some time record label Crimethinc.

Oi Polloi (Edinburgh)
Local anarcho-punk legends, going since 1984, and have toured the globe extensively since then. Practically every foreign hardcore kid who comes through town always want to see them, and in the States, bands like Tragedy support them. Quietly very influential, we've added them to the bill because they were the first punk band the guys in Zegota ever saw live, and were a big inspiration to them.

Filthpact (Aberdeen)
Total crust-violence from Aberdeen, harsh vocals, blast beats, kind of somewhere between Nasum, Extreme Noise Terror and Drop Dead. THIS IS THEIR LAST EVER GIG! After two years, a few demos and split 7 inches, several UK and European tours, and numerous Scottish gigs, their gutarist will be departing home to Australia. In this age of floppy nut myspace losers, we need more bands with this venom and get up and go. They will be missed!
