Towards Open-Process Society: Govanhill Baths and Social Economy

An open discussion with Toni Prug and members of the Govanhill Baths campaign.

This discussion workshop presents ideas of Open-Process proposing a different model for how institutions and social relations can be constructed and managed in more transparent and participatory forms. Toni Prug draws upon experiences from the Zagreb University protests of 2009, where these ideas were put into practice in a way that realised a new and empowering relationship between educational institutions and wider society. Using the campaign to save Govanhill Baths from its origins in a passionate community protest to negotiating a sustainable future, and involving input from members of the current campaign, the discussion will examine how such models can be applied to local community organisation.
