Who Are the Real War Criminals?

Saturday, 18 December 2004
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Organizer: International Action Center

. The International War Crimes Tribunal & it's Relationship to U.S. Imperialism
. Update on the Trial of Former Yugoslavian Pres., Slobodan Milosevic
. Why Bush and Co. Should be Tried for War Crimes
. The Lies & Distortions that Preceded the Invasions of Yugoslavia & Iraq

Featuring:
Tiphaine Dickson - a criminal defense lawyer specializing in international criminal law based in Montreal. She was lead defense counsel in one of the first genocide trials before an ad hoc Security Council body at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She is legal spokesperson and analyst for the International Committee to Defend Slobodan Milosevic, and has published several articles on the political nature, hidden objectives, and crippling process of the ICTY.

Over the past several years the imperialist powers have used so- called "International War Crimes Tribunals" as cover for the lies and distortions they have used to justify the US/NATO takeover of Yugoslavia and the US invasion and occupation of Iraq. Tiphaine will address this issue as well as provide an update on the trial of former Yugslavian Pres., Slobodan Milosevic whose defiant defense at the Hague has put the US and it's European allies on the defensive and has helped to expose the true nature of the takeover of Yugoslavia.

This meeting will also address the issue of the war crimes being committed on a daily basis by the Bush administration in Iraq and Haiti as well as the upcoming counter-inaugural protests in Washington DC on Jan. 20 and in NYC on March 20, the second anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq.

Location:
284 Amory St. (The Brewery), Jamaica Plain
2 blocks from Stonybrook T stop in the Orange Line
